Play Responsibly
Signs of a problem
Online casinos are entertainment, not a plan to earn a living, and the first sign that gambling is slipping out of balance is usually small: a session that goes longer than planned, a deposit made in anger after a loss, a bet placed with money that was meant for rent or groceries. Lying to a partner about how much went in, chasing losses with bigger bets, or feeling the urge to open the cashier the moment a bad feeling comes up are stronger signals that it is time to pause. None of these signs mean a reader is broken; they mean the pattern needs attention.
Self-exclusion at Slapkong
Slapkong offers a self-exclusion tool inside the account settings. A reader can set a cool-off period of a day, a week or a month, during which the account cannot be used; longer self-exclusion of six months or more is activated by writing to Slapkong support with a short message that includes the account email. During a self-exclusion the account is locked for deposits and for play but open for withdrawals of the remaining balance. The operator honours the lock across its mirror domains, so there is no way to walk around it by signing up again under a different URL.
Parental control
If anyone under the local age of majority shares a device, pair the computer or phone with a content filter that blocks adult categories; Net Nanny, Qustodio and the built-in Family Link on Android all work for this. Keep the account password out of a shared browser profile and out of autofill, and turn off push notifications for betting apps on a device a minor might pick up. Canadian internet providers offer parental-control add-ons on request; it is worth a call.
Where to get help
Every province in Canada funds a free, confidential help line for people worried about their gambling. ConnexOntario answers calls, texts and online chats twenty-four hours a day for Ontario residents; the Problem Gambling Helpline covers British Columbia around the clock; Quebec's Jeu: aide et référence takes calls in French and English. The national number 1-866-531-2600 routes to the right local service by province. All of these services are free, and a conversation does not create any record Slapkong or anyone else can see.
Limits and tools you can set
Before the first real-money session at Slapkong, set a deposit limit in the account settings — daily or weekly, whichever matches the pay cycle — and leave it below what feels comfortable to lose. A reality check that pops up every thirty or sixty minutes helps stop a session from running on autopilot. The loss limit and the single-session timer live under the same menu as the deposit limit. Increasing any of these numbers takes a cooling-off period of twenty-four hours; decreasing is instant, which is the right way around.
